Description
Swedish Columnar Aspen
(Populus tremula erecta)
Features: This tall upright spire-like tree is used primarily as a sharp vertical accent or in a row as a very tall screen. Leaves open brick red in spring and mature to a forest green for the summer. No floating fluffy seed is produced. The serrated oval leaves turn yellow in the fall.
It is much less likely to sucker than other poplars but it can if the roots are disturbed.
